Wellbeing News

Dear Parents and Carers,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, (for those who don’t know me), and tell you about my new role at LCS in 2025.

Along with a part time teaching role (Thursday and Friday in 1/2B), this year I will be taking on the role of Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader (MHWL) at our school.  This position has been rolled out by our government to promote positive health and wellbeing within all schools.

We know that children’s mental health is fundamental to their development and learning. Good mental health means having a positive sense of wellbeing, coping with challenges and being able to realise individual potential. At LCS we strive to imbed positive mental health and wellbeing throughout our classrooms and playgrounds.

As the Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader, my aim is to build the capability of the whole school with regard to mental health and wellbeing, provide support to staff to better identify and support students with mental health needs, establish clear pathways for referral for students requiring assessment and intervention, and monitor and evaluate student progress.
