Junior School

After an action packed term 1, our Year 7’s are wrapping up classroom learning and getting ready for the term break.

Across week 9 we had a large number of our Year 7’s represent Eltham High School in a range of different sports in Interschool Round Robin competitions. Sports included softball, baseball, tennis and volleyball. Volleyball students also participated in an inhouse event focused on techniques in an intensive development day.

During involve on Monday March 24, our Year 7’s meet with their year 10 mentor students for the second time. Year 10 mentors guided Year 7’s to create learning goals based on their interim reports and feedback from Student Progress Interviews. It was fantastic to see the students continuing to build positive connections.

As a sub-school, we have been supporting our young people to develop healthy habits and routines. We have requested that students do not bring energy drinks onsite and reminded them that they are not permitted in the classroom. In line with the Acceptable Use Agreement, we have been working to establish positive online interactions whilst at school. To support this learning at home, please have a conversation with your young person regarding online safety and the implications of social media. You may find the following eSafety guide helpful: esafety for parents.

A reminder that whilst we have printers onsite for our students, our Year 7’s do not automatically have print credit. Students can take money to the General Office in order to get print credit. With a number of Common Assessment Tasks due next week, it will be beneficial for them to top up their accounts to enable them to print their final products.

Please note that with a number of excursions, camps and events planned, some families may be eligible to apply for CSEF funding support.

Please see the attached link for details: CSEF application

In our final assembly for the term, we are looking forward to celebrating individual student successes through our Green Deeds Count raffle and our outstanding class attendance award.

We wish everyone a safe, happy holiday break and thank you all for your support this term.
