Practising the Pause

"Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27

It was lovely to have Myrthe Brugmans join me at Kincumber for the Parents' Wellbeing Retreat put on by Broken Bay Diocese yesterday. We listened to Karen Amos, a psychologist at the Hummingbird Centre, talk about how busyness can affect our health detrimentally and ways to become better at stopping in our day, even for 30 seconds to breathe and practise the pause. We were then offered three workshops to choose from, one of them being a prayer workshop with art led by our very own Lindfield PEC! When I first asked Myrthe to come, she said no "I'm too busy!"... clearly she reassessed and her husband Jeremy took the kids to activities in the afternoon to give Myrthe time to pause. What can you do for others in your family to help family wellbeing? What can you say "yes" to in order to give you time to be a better you?
