CURRICULUM FOCUS

In Reading this week we are looking at character feelings and thinking about how we would feel if we were in the same situation as the characters in the books we read. 

VOCABULARY

Characters: The people, animals or creatures within a story that can move, think, eat and talk. 

Feelings: Our emotions e.g. happy, sad, worried, angry. 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

After your child reads a fiction book at home ask them to draw a picture of the character and the different feelings the character felt in the book. Discuss with your child how the character's feelings may have changed throughout the story and why.
