Clothing Swap
With the rise of fast fashion in the past couple years, it is as important as ever to upcycle or recycle clothes. On average a piece of clothing is worn 7 times before being discarded. Globally we produce between 80-100 billion pieces of clothing every year and 87% of the materials end up in landfill. By handing in any clothes you no longer use but are in good condition you are helping to reduce waste and looking out for the environment.
We encourage everyone to help make the world cleaner by donating any clothing you have to this year’s Environmentalism Clothes Swap that will take place on Friday 1 December. You can donate clothes to either Mrs Gavin's or Ms Youll's office where your name will be written down and you will receive a token that allows you to get clothing pieces on the day of the event. If you don’t have anything to swap, the clothing will be available for no more than a gold coin. Please find the link to a video with more information on the importance of recycling clothes.
