President's Report Term 4, 2023
- Rachel Imbesi
Hi Livingston Families
It's hard to believe we are approaching the end of 2023. This year has flown and the countdown is on to the end of the year.
Our Parent Information night and AGM is scheduled for Tuesday 21st November at 7pm. This is a great opportunity for new or existing families who will be attending in 2024 to meet our staff and other parent/carers and learn more about our kindergarten. We will also be dissolving our 2023 Committee of Management and a new committee elected for 2024. As a not for profit association, managed by a parent/carer committee, we ask that families consider supporting our organisation by occupying a committee position. We have a number of positions available including President, Secretary, Communications Officer (quarterly newsletter), Grants Officer x 2 and 3YO Representative (Boronia).
If you are interested or would like more information on these positions, please contact me presidentlivingstonkinder@gmail.com or Louise officelivingstonkinder@gmail.com
I would like to give a special thank you to this year's Committee of Management. Our kindergarten cannot operate without these special volunteers. Thank you for your time, dedication, passion and support across this year. It has been a pleasure working with your all and we couldn't of achieved all the results we did without everyone's input.
The Livingston Kindergarten End of Year Party will be held 25 November 2pm-4pm at Lyle Anderson Reserve. This is a great way to celebrate the end of the year with the kindergarten community. Make sure you pop the date in your calendar and we look forward to seeing you there!
Our Teachers and Educators make our kindergarten what it is today. I would like to thank all our staff for their tireless commitment and dedication to our children and families. Currently there is a dire staff shortage in the Early Education sector. This has placed huge pressure on Louise and the team to cover sickness and personal leave throughout the year. A big thank to you all our staff for taking on the extra hours to keep our kindergarten running and the relief staff who help us out on short notice. It has been a big team effort. A big shout out to our Director Louise who lead our rollout of 3YO 15 hours of kindergarten in 2023 whilst juggling a staff shortage. Our Finance Manager, Kat, has been instrumental in keeping our finances in order and on track. Thank you to Kat for your guidance and support to maximise our financial result for our kindergarten.
It has been a pleasure to take on the role of President over the last four years. It has been a very rewarding experience and its great to see the kindergarten in a sound position, with enrolments at capacity. This will be my last year in the role and I wish the kindergarten and staff all the best as I hand over to the new committee in 2024.
I would like to wish all our families and staff a wonderful and safe festive season. Enjoy the summer break. If you are leaving the kindergarten, we wish you and your family all the best for your next journey.
For those returning in 2024, we look forward to welcoming you back in the new year.
Thanks and take care,
Rachel
