3/4 Museum excursion
On Monday 23rd October the year 3 and 4 students went to the Melbourne Museum and IMAX to learn more about what makes Australia unique .
We watched an information report about The Great Barrier Reef. I learnt about coral bleaching. There are a lot of colourful fish .
Then we had recess. We went to the Melbourne Museum. We saw bugs and dinosaurs. Then we went to see the crystals. It was fun and we saw the world before it became today.
We ate lunch so we went to see the birds. Then we went to the rainforest and saw frogs and birds flying overhead.
Then we went to Melbourne gallery and visited an old house from the 1800’s and we also learned about a horse called Phar Lap.

On Monday the 23rd of October, 3/4s and 3/4c went to IMAX and the museum. We went to the museum and IMAX because we are learning about what makes Australia unique.
The first thing we did was go to IMAX and watched a movie about the Great Barrier Reef. The movie told us all about how when the weather gets warm, the heat causes coral bleaching and that most of the coral in the reef is dying
After IMAX we went to the museum and saw the bugs and dinosaurs. Looking at the bugs grossed me out a bit, but it was cool to look at them up close. We saw the dinosaurs although it was a bit intimidating because of how big they are it was awesome to see their skeleton.
Once we finished with the bugs and dinosaurs we had lunch and then went to the Melbourne part of the museum. My favourite part was the 18th century houses. From the outside it looks like one house but when you go inside you can tell that it is two houses. The houses had two rooms each and there was one bathroom so they would have had to share. There was some of the old cutlery on display it was bent and dirty.
Overall it was really fun and I enjoyed it a lot. I recommend going whenever you have time
