Aerobic Gymastics Concert
The annual Girton Grammar Aerobic Gymnastics Concert was held in the Black Box Theatre on Thursday 2 November. The students enjoyed the opportunity to come together to perform for family and friends, and showcase all the skills they have been developing.
The evening provided a fitting end to a wonderful year of Aerobic Gymnastics at Girton, which has seen our students achieve an array of impressive accomplishments individually and in a team capacity. The competitive season commenced with resounding success at the Aeroschool State Championships, where our gymnasts achieved impressive results, including being awarded the overall champion primary school for the third consecutive year. Following this outstanding accomplishment, 27 students and nine teams proudly represented Girton at the National Championships on the Gold Coast. In addition to the many podium finishes, every team secured a top six position in their respective sections, making it Girton's most successful National Championships to date.
A special thanks goes to Mrs Belinda Vernon, coach Sally Moore, and Aerobic Gymnastics Captain Ruby Conti for their enormous efforts this year to coordinate the co-curricular program and mentor the participating students. Thanks also to our staff helpers Mrs Collette Derrick, Ms Meghan Ketterer, Mrs Georgiana Rice and Miss Cassie Nelson, and to student mentors Stephanie Carlson, Elizabeth McGrath and Varley Bobart. Finally, congratulations to all the talented gymnasts from our Junior and Senior Schools.
