Our Learning
Congratulations to all the Grade Four students for completing their assessments. We know this is not an easy task for the students to undertake, however have been blown away by the positive attitudes, supportive words overall maturity they have displayed throughout the process.
Literacy
- Analysing word choice in poetry.
- Identifying the link between word choice and our five senses in poetry.
- Book club roles continuing.
- Learning the meaning of the root words 'ject', 'tect', 'cept' and 'gress'.
- Applying the above meanings to determine the literal meaning of a word.
- Writing their own poetry. Their 'I would never' poems gave us a lot of laughs.
Maths
Inquiry
Students will develop a presentation to share with an audience. This presentation will showcase their learning about 'erosion' over the term.
Wellbeing
Over the next few weeks, in addition to our Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships program, we will be focusing on tolerance and kindness. As the end of the year is approaching, many students feel mixed emotions and it is important to support and guide them through this transition.
Reminders
