What's happening in our classrooms?

Literacy:

We have launched into our final big unit for the year... exploring non-fiction texts! The students have been looking at properties of a non-fiction text such as the contents, glossary and diagrams. They then brainstormed topics they would like to inquire further about, focusing on how things work in our world. As we begin to wrap the year up, we have been doing lots of assessment too and we have been proud of the students giving things their best go!

Maths:

During our Math units we have been doing lots of revision of the four operations. We have been looking at areas the students have found challenging previously and supporting or extending their learning. This will continue for the final few weeks of the term.

Inquiry:

This week the students have been listening to the perspectives of the convicts on the First Fleet as they travelled to Australia. We are also looking at First Nations peoples perspectives of their first interactions with Europeans. The students have shown great interest in learning about various peoples' perspectives and experiences.

Wellbeing: This week we worked more on problem solving strategies. We looked at scenarios of problems students could come across in the yard

SCAMP!

We were all BEYOND excited to get stuck into SCAMP last week. The students had a ball participating in all of the challenges, activities and group tasks. Activities ranged from a 'spotto' hunt as we walked to the park, tent time, challenges, dance parties, chill out time and time in the 'cafeteria'. We were also so impressed with the tent packing away skills... I think they set a record for quick, tidy and efficient pack up time... GO GRADE 3's (and 2's from 2/3C!)

And finally... check out the dedication of Ms Hamill to making sure the play equipment was safe as they prepared our community walk. Thanks Ms Hamill!

Have a wonderful fortnight everyone!
