Year Five/Six News

Back from camp!

Just as our year 6 students returned from Canberra, our year 5 students headed off to Norval Camp in Halls Gap.

For a lot of our year 5 students, Norval Camp is the first time they are spending 5 days away from their families - which is a huge challenge. But Norval Camp had a few more challenges to throw their way and our students faced them all head on! The camp had students conquering fears of heights while abseilling down a 15m rock cliff, navigating a tightrope amongst the trees, taking a leap of faith from a rickety landing high in the air, firing arrows in archery and a number of other exciting activities.

On Wednesday of the camp the entire 38 students and 4 staff tackled Halls Gap's Pinnacle hike. This monstrosity of a hike took our campers 7.5 hours to complete. We are extremely proud of our campers - as everyone managed to make the climb up and over, displaying their resilience and perseverance.

We hope that our campers had a huge rest over the weekend - they deserved it!

Thank you to the teachers that came on this camp. The experience wouldn't have been the same without you.
