Principal Update

Melissa Mackenzie

We have had another lovely week at APS. The Year 3’s enjoyed their first offsite camp and from all accounts there was less sleep than usual but all had a wonderful time.

I have been helping another school with their Review this week, which has been wonderful learning for me.

The students have continued learning about Learner Dispositions. The SRC are planning a small fundraiser, the Year 6 Student Leaders are planning the Term 4 House Day and we have some other students wanting to raise money for cancer.

The Year 2 students continue to run the outdoor library club and there is a diligent group of Year 5’s organizing the sports equipment borrowing each day. There are many ways students show initiative through the school and we support them with their pursuits. They are part of the culture of the school that we really admire.

The APS  Comedy Night is coming up and will be a lovely way to get together, have some laughs and socialise. We hope to see you there. It is the first time we’ve used the gym for such an event so expect that this will attract many parents. You can purchase tickets at:

We begin 2024 Prep Transition Sessions next week and look forward to welcoming this group of children and their parents to the school. OSHClub are providing a coffee cart for the 2024 Prep Parents which is very relaxed and an opportunity to meet each other. There are three sessions following this one which will provide more information about the running of the school and the things you need to know when you begin with a Prep.

Have a great week
