Table Tennis - Year 7

On Friday 20 October 2023, GNLC had 2 year 7 teams (1 boys team, and 1 girls team) participate in the WMR Table Tennis Tournament.

All students did a great job representing the College. Our boys team just missed out on the finals. The girls team made it through to the finals.  A great achievement!

Primary Chess Tournament

This week, students attended the Primary Chess Tournament's State Finals. Three of the students also qualified for the Open Grand Final, which is a wonderful achievement! 

Congratulations to all involved, and a special mention to Abhi Challa who received a Bronze medal!

Victorian All Schools Track & Field Championships

GNLC had three students represent the College at the 2023 Victorian All Schools Track and Field Championships weekend: Charli Brown Year 7 (U14), Tahnee Hutchison Year 8 (U15) and Holly Gardiner Year 9 (U16).

Charli returned from an injury and competed in the 100m heats, while Tahnee finished 6th in the state in the Triple Jump and 8th in the state in the 100m, and Holly placed 10th in the state in Triple Jump and 2nd in the state in the High Jump.

As a result of finishing 2nd in her High Jump, Holly has qualified for the National Track & Field Championships for School sports which will be held in Perth from Friday 8/12 – Sunday 10/12. 

Next weekend, both Charli and Tahnee will compete again in the 200m and Long Jump in their age groups.
