The past two weeks have seen us focusing on a Chance unit. We have conducted experiments involving the likelihood of events to happen/not happen. We have then connected this information to what we have already learnt about fractions and percentages.
We have been working on debates over the past two weeks. We have learnt about the structure of debates and how we can put our persuasive knowledge into action.
We watched the Year 6s present and we were very impressed with their persuasive skills.
Last week we had our first two teams to present about 'Should the school day be longer?' We then had our second two teams who presented 'Is homework necessary?'
They did an excellent job for their first debate and worked really well as a team.
We have had an exciting few weeks meeting all the 2024 Preps. We have played and socialised with them and then finally met our very own buddy yesterday. We also spent some time preparing to meet their parents which then allowed us to have a great experience in doing so.
Everyone is very excited for next year, with Prep buddies just one of the amazing things to look foreard to.
Just a reminder that all students should be bringing their iPads to school each day and fully charged. We do not have enough chargers for students to charge their iPad at school and do not have enough spare devices. It is important they have their devices at school to be able to fully participate in our learning tasks.
