Prep

Maths 

During Maths, the Preps are learning about place value. Using various materials and tools to show and explain their understanding, they have shown how much each digit in a number is worth. 

Literacy 

In InitiaLit, the students continue learning their letters and sounds and identifying the middle sounds in simple words. After a shared reading of a decodable reader, the students completed an independent task sheet to support their reading for understanding skills further. 

Inquiry 

The Preps are preparing to float their boats. This week, they have been constructing their aluminium foil boats. They have also discussed the properties and uses of aluminium foil and if aluminium is a suitable material to create a boat from. 

Education in Faith 

This week, the Preps visited all the classes and discussed The Prep Kindness Project. During Advent, we reflect on various ways to show kindness to the wider community. This year, the Preps are asking the school community to donate Christmas decorations, special treats and non-perishable food items. The items collected will be donated to St Vincent de Paul. It was wonderful to see the students sharing this project with the other students.
