Multicultural Youth Leadership Conference (MYLC)

Last week some of our senior students, together with students from John Paul College, travelled to Melbourne to attend Australia's largest Multicultural Youth Conference

They gained some inspiration from young leaders focussing on connection, empowerment and leadership!   Students were treated with some deep insights from Peter Bol (Australian Olympian) and Mohamed Semra (one of the six students Apple Stores refused entry to some years ago due to racial profiling).

Servant Leadership was promoted at the conference and this will continue to be an area of focus as we continue to explore the cultural stories within our shared communities of St John's school and John Paul College.

COME CELEBRATE WITH US! YOU ARE INVITED to listen to students present and share their culture with all in our community.  Please come along to support their bravery and pride in sharing their story.

Please see the following attachment inviting students and families to share their cultural stories on Tuesday 5th March in the hall after school.   We are asking for volunteers to set up an area or table to informally chat with others about their cultural stories.

If you are interested in sharing your story by way of artefacts, food, dress etc please contact Marisa Patton 9789 9794.

John Paul College students and families are also welcome to attend this event.
