Heathmont Talks Representatives

As some of you may have noticed, Heathmont Talks, an initiative ran by the College Captains, has not yet started back up this year. This is due to several structural changes in an attempt to get more students regularly involved.

Heathmont Talks is going to be a place where students can talk with each other about ideas for things they would like to change or improve within Heathmont. This year, it's going to be ran a little like a Student Representative Council - each year level will be have several representatives that they can talk to that will then bring important and relevant topics and perspectives. We will be running designated Heathmont Talks meetings for each year level across the year, so that all levels are heard. However, Heathmont Talks will continue its ‘open door policy,’ meaning that even if you are not a Heathmont Talks Representative, you are still invited and able to attend sessions.

These meetings will start in Term 2, with the rest of Term 1 being used for students to nominate people in their year level - with their permission - to be a representative to attend these meetings.

College Captains will attend every meeting, and people already in leadership roles throughout the school will be welcome to attend the meetings that involve their specific year level - alongside the representatives. The representative positions are open to anyone who does not already hold a leadership position within Heathmont College, and we highly encourage a diverse range of students to put their names forward for these roles.

The meetings will run fortnightly on Wednesdays for the first half of lunch, starting in Week 2 of Term 2.

If you have someone that you think could present a unique or widely held perspective within your year level, please let them know about Heathmont Talks, and ask them if they would like to be nominated to become a representative!! Fill in the form below once you have their consent for a nomination! Alternatively, if you would like to nominate yourself, please follow the link.
