AYO, BAHASA INDONESIA ASYIK!
Year 7 students started their Indonesian learning with great interest and positivity. They researched and completed 25 questions about Indonesia: the country, community and culture. Students have a greater understanding of our closest neighbour. They have also presented written and oral reflections about their work. It was amazing to see students working together to encourage each other in their language learning while also actively listening to others’ presentation. Learning a new language is exciting and fun and has wonderful benefits for students in school and in their lives.
Here is some student feedback on their first assessment task:
“In this assignment I had lots of fun and I also learnt a lot of new facts about indonesia. I found out how much a dollar is in indonesian rupiah and that Indonesia has about 18,000 islands! I found this task awesome”, Daniel Harris.
“It is fun and challenging discovering Indonesia and finding new and fascinating facts about the country. My favourite fact is about Rafflesia, the largest flower which is also carnivorous. This work was so cool to do, and I learnt lots of new things”, Tyler Porter.
“I enjoyed this assignment a lot and it was great to learn more about this amazing, beautiful country. I enjoyed doing the task and continued working on it every day till I finished it! I love learning about Indonesia and its culture, and I can’t wait to learn more and more this year”, Zoe Renzella.
“This is my first-year learning Indonesian and I’m so glad I got to work on this project because it helped me learn more stuff about Indonesia and their culture. My favourite part about doing this was learning about their festivals and things they celebrate. INDONESIAN IS THE BEST!!! “ Chelsea Mennen.
“I enjoyed learning so much about Indonesia. It was amazing and I really liked it”, Bailey Westcott.
