In the Spotlight

Hello all!

I’m Mr. Hathaway (James to parents) and I’m a brand spanking new member of the OGPS teaching community. I’ve been very fortunate to join such a wonderful learning community and to teach a great bunch of students in year 4.

Here are some things that you may not know about me.

  • I live in Ocean Grove with my partner Lauren and our dog Wombi (both are much more talented and funnier than myself).
  • In my free time you’ll either find me in the garden, at the beach, or in the shed shaping a surfboard or making something out of timber.
  • In a past life, I worked on the ocean as a seafarer on ships.
  • My favorite subject is Wellbeing because of the support it gives students inside and outside of the classroom.
  • As an adolescent I appeared on some television shows and at 16 I became a published author and carried on writing for various publication throughout my 20’s.
  • Once upon a time I would travel extensively for work and pleasure, and I really enjoyed being emersed in different cultures.

Please come and say hello if you see me in the yard. I love a chat!

The closest I’ve come to getting barreled in a very long time.

Hi!

My name is Megan King and I am one of the Foundation teachers!

I am lucky enough to be teaching at OGPS for my 8th year now and have another wonderful class this year, who I love spending each day with! I consider myself to be a local girl, having grown up in Wallington and attended Wallington Primary School as a kid.

I have just moved to Leopold with my husband, John and our 2 beautiful Border Collie dogs, Mina and Milo.

Last year we were lucky enough to be able to travel to Europe and visited London, France and Amsterdam. We would love to go back and explore Europe more, especially Italy!

When I’m not at school, you’ll find me doing pilates, spending time with family and friends or walking my dogs down at the beach.

My favourite colour is pink and I believe there’s no such thing as too much chocolate!
