In Art recently we have been super busy & creative!

Preps have been exploring a range of art materials from drawing special people in their lives and creating collages of themselves and houses. They have learned the importance of using scissors safely and experimented with different craft materials.

Grade 1 and 2 have been exploring the art element Line, they’ve created some beautiful mixed media artworks of owls and monsters that use a variety of lines and colours.

Grade 3 and 4 have been drawing with oil pastels with a focus on the art element colour. Grade 3’s have learned about the warm and cool colour groups by creating some stunning landscapes while grade 4’s have been colour blending with analogous colours (similar) to create a Banyan tree.

And our senior artists are midway through a big project to create an ‘explosion book’! These will look awesome & I can’t wait to share them with you when they’re done. We’ve started with an abstract painting which in coming weeks will be cut up to create the pages of our books. Students will be creating their own book covers and additional content inspired by the art elements.

Lastly, senior Art Club is Back! We are working on a mural behind the STEAM building that will brighten our space and already looks fabulous. Well done artists!
