Swimming Carnival
What a day it was at the annual swimming carnival held at the Orange Aquatic Centre on the 21st February. Staff and students were kept busy throughout the day with competitive and non-competitive races, novelty events and the ever-popular staff and student relays.
Once again, we were fortunate to have students from Orange High School join us to support our staff and students with results recording, timekeeping, ribbon delivery as well as jumping in the pool to support and encourage our students during novelty events and in the relays.
Felicity, Shelby-Rose and Riley W will move on the next level and compete at the regional swimming trials in Dubbo today.
Below are the age champions, runners-up and encouragement award recipients. Dwyer was awarded the winner of the carnival with 50 points, followed by Southwood (49), Fearnley (37) and Murphy (27). Points are awarded to each student who participates in a race.

Come and Try Athletics
Staff and students recently battled the Dubbo heat to participate in the annual Come and Try athletics day at Barden Park in Dubbo. Run by officers from the Inclusive Sports section of the School Sports Unit, students were provided the opportunity to practice their running, long jump, shot put, discus and javelin skills in a fun and participation-focused event with other schools from the region. This provided great practice for the upcoming athletics carnival in Term 2. Stay tuned for future events run by the School Sport Unit later on in the year.
