Positive Education @ Anson

Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)

With the warm sunny weather continuing, it is a requirement that students in K-6 wear a hat on the playground for sun protection. Sunblock is also applied before outdoor play.

We also encourage secondary students to wear hats and apply sunscreen daily.

A school hat is provided when all students commence at Anson Street School and there are a variety of options available at Orange Clothing Company including bucket hats, wide-brimmed hats and baseball caps all with our school logo embroidered on. Baseball caps that are not representative of the school are great for home but are not allowed at school.

Be Safe: wear a hat and use sunscreen.

We continue with our whole-school focus Be Respectful: Grow your mind - be kind.

Kindness is one of our character pillars and we encourage all students to show kindness to themselves, their staff, and their peers. Students who demonstrate our character pillars are rewarded with a choice of treats at the 'Friday Shake Bar' in the Anson Cafe.

Take a moment in March

While at school this term we are focusing on kindness, it is a good time to remind our families and carers to think about being kind to themselves as well. Raising kids is a difficult thing to do, especially at a time when we are all facing so many external pressures. It is important to acknowledge what we are doing well and give ourselves a little pat on the back. Take a moment in March to stop and acknowledge what a great job you are doing as a parent/carer. Remember, ‘we are all in this together’.

Some words of wisdom.....
