This weekend, our Year 4 students begin their journey towards receiving the Sacrament of Eucharist for the first time. This journey starts with a commitment to receiving the Body of Christ and thereby becoming part of the Body of Christ through our words and actions.
Preparing for Easter through Lent and Holy Week is an opportune time to explore the Sacrament of Eucharist for it was at the Last Supper that Jesus broke the bread, telling His disciples "This is my Body" and shared the wine stating "This is my Blood which will be given up for you. Do this in memory of me!"
So everytime we go to Mass and receive Jesus in the Eucharist, we are remembering Jesus, we are becoming part of His body and we are aspiring to live by His laws. The most poignant law being " Love one another as I have Loved You."
We congratulate the Year 4 students who are undertaking this commitment. We pray for them and hope to support them along their faith journey.
