We are delighted to announce that Celestine is our Boarder of the Week! Celestine, who is in Year 8 and joined College this term, has demonstrated outstanding compassion and empathy toward her fellow boarders. Her willingness to reach out to others who have required assistance with their prep has been truly remarkable. Celestine's caring nature and supportive attitude exemplify the very best of our boarding community values.
Congratulations, Celestine!
Our annual Mexican Night continues to establish itself as a tradition that simply cannot be missed! This year's celebration was another triumph, thanks to the incredible efforts of our chef, Josh, who put on a feast that delighted both the eyes and the taste buds. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly our piñata competition, which serves as an excellent opportunity for boarders to earn additional House points. However, calling it a "hit the piñata" competition might be misleading - it's more accurately described as a "smash the piñata" showdown!
Our Boarding House Captains kicked off the evening's festivities, setting the tone for what became an evening filled with laughter and some very near misses (our apologies to Teddy D!). The evening's champion emerged in the form of Year 11 boarder Angus Rowe, who delivered the decisive blow that finally released the chocolate treasures for all to enjoy. Remarkably, Angus achieved this feat while nursing a knee injury - clearly demonstrating that nothing could stop his determination to unleash the chocolates! Well done, Angus.
Our weekly trivia is a competitive evening event held in the dining hall on Tuesday evenings. With many Tricky Trivia nights coming and going, we haven’t yet shared one of the sets of questions, so with only a few weeks to go in the term, we thought it would be a good idea to begin sharing.
I must say a quiet congratulations to our Principal, Dr Horne, who was first to finish, but it was our boarders on Kate and Poppy’s table who were this week's winners. It is always wonderful to see boarders from different year levels on dinner tables chatting and working together. This truly builds a better boarding house with stronger friendships between year levels and Houses.
