Book Week 2025: "Book an Adventure"

Book Week 2025 ran from Saturday, 16 August to Saturday, 23 August, celebrating Australia's rich children's literature. This year's theme was "Book an Adventure", encouraging young readers to explore new worlds through storytelling and see every book as an opportunity for discovery.

We enjoyed the delightful characters in the Junior School parade, where students brought their favourite literary heroes and heroines to life with creative costumes and infectious enthusiasm. The celebration highlighted how our love of books, reading and literature is embedded throughout the school, creating a vibrant culture of literacy that extends far beyond the library walls.

The celebration marked a special milestone - 80 years of Children's Book Week organised by the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA). Our students and staff continue to benefit from the incredible collection of print and digital texts provided for students and staff at the college all year round, ensuring that the spirit of "booking an adventure" lives on well beyond Book Week itself.

In honour of this celebration, I asked a few of our school leaders to share their favourite books with us all. You might find a new book to try out or revisit an old friend.
