As we move into the busy time in schools when we purposefully begin examination preparation for our Year 12 cohort and start to think about their rites of passage upon finishing school, we are also entering a period of transition for our newest students. I have been meeting with incoming Year 7 students over the past few weeks, who will begin their College story in 2026. This is shaping up as an exceptionally impressive group of young people – engaged, eager, smart and humble – and I am very much looking forward to welcoming them into the College community next year. For the second year in a row, we are also approaching our student cap for Year 7, so if you know of anyone considering enrolment at College, please encourage them to make contact with Registrar, Susie Holcombe, sooner rather than later.
We also continue to cultivate our important emerging international market. I will be heading off next week with Susie Holcombe to meet with agents, as well as past and prospective families, in Cambodia and Vietnam. I am especially looking forward to meeting with the Ly family in Phnom Penh, whose sons Yong An and Yong Soeung graduated from College in 2022 and 2023, respectively. Following agent and parent meetings in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, I will meet up with the second group of Year 9 students as they arrive in Hanoi and travel with them for the three weeks of their Vietnam Experience. I am pleased to have this opportunity to be part of this group and to walk alongside them as they are challenged and their horizons are broadened through this signature College program.
As our connections grow in Southeast Asia, I am hopeful that 2026 will see a new group from Cambodia or Vietnam within our international cohort.
