Level 3 & 4
Week 9, Term 3
CBL
Students will be sharing and playing the old-fashioned games they created last week, as well as continuing their challenge to “Show how our school has grown over time.” They will explore changes at school through the lenses of buildings, technology, schoolyard sports, lessons, and daily routines. Your child may like to share their old fashioned game with you and play it at home!
Wellbeing
In Respectful Relationships, students are learning strategies to solve problems effectively. As part of Cyber Safety, they will explore the topic of peer pressure and how to navigate it online. Ask your child about the strategies they have practiced this week.
Reading
We are continuing to read Kensuke’s Kingdom, with a focus on the skill of summarising while also building vocabulary. Encourage your child to summarise texts they read or shows they watch at home by identifying the main idea and explaining what happened to the characters.
Writing
Students are completing and publishing their adventure stories, practicing their typing skills along the way. They are very excited to share their work with you — once finished, your child will post their story on Showbie, hard copies will be on display in classrooms.
Maths
Our focus is on representing unit fractions in different ways and exploring equivalent fractions, we are encouraging students to play our fraction counting games at home to strengthen these skills. We also recommend that students continue to utilise Timetable Rockstars to continue to build their multiplication and division fact automatic recall.
Happy Holidays
We wish our Grade 3 and 4 families a safe and happy holiday break. We hope you enjoy the beautiful early spring blossoms and sunshine with your loved ones. We look forward to welcoming everyone back, refreshed and ready for a fantastic Term 4.
