ONSTAGE Nominations for the Drama Class of 2025

Kinross Wolaroi School is pleased to announce that our 2025 HSC Drama cohort has received an outstanding 13 nominations for OnSTAGE, the annual showcase presented by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), which features exemplary performances and projects from the HSC Drama course.

This year, the following students were nominated for their Group Performance:Charlotte Buckley, Lex Carter, Oli Dillon, Nick Hannaford, George Hogg, Felicity Knox, Isabella Lloyd George, and Carrie Smith.

In addition, Lex Carter, Oli Dillon, George Hogg, Isabella Lloyd George, and Carrie Smith received further recognition through nominations for their Individual Performances, reflecting their exceptional talent and commitment to the Performing Arts.

As Alfred Hitchcock famously said, “Drama is life with the dull bits cut out.”This quote aptly captures the essence of our students’ work—each performance distilled the richness of human experience into compelling, thought-provoking theatre. Their success in receiving OnSTAGE nominations reflects not only technical excellence but also their ability to engage audiences with authenticity, insight, and imagination.

These nominations represent a significant achievement and are a testament to the students’ creativity, discipline, and dedication throughout their HSC studies. The Performing Arts faculty and broader school community extend their heartfelt congratulations to all involved. Bravo!

Nick Russoniello Looping Workshop

Year 11 Music students attended an engaging workshop presented by Nick Russoniello, Australian composer and member of the renowned Nexas Saxophone Quartet.  Many of Nick’s compositions are influenced by 90’s electronic dance music, and Nick performed some of his compositions utilising looping pedals.  He also explained his compositional process and how to build up layers using looping pedals.  He also gave our students tips about preparing for HSC performances and compositions.  Thanks to Carmen Nieves from Alianza Music for facilitating this workshop for us.
