BirthdayYear 3 Scenic World
On Friday 12 September, Year 3 visited Scenic World in the Blue Mountains as part of our Geography unit. We have been studying about the extraordinary natural features across Australia, learning specifically about flora and fauna and what we can do to protect and care for these places.
Arriving at Scenic World, we were met with Uncle David who gave an indigenous perspective of the local area. We learned about the local totems and how the aboriginal people cared for the land. We then set off on the Skyway where we made observations of the Blue Mountains, specifically focusing on the Three Sisters as we had been learning about how these came to be.
We then descended into the national park on the Cable Car, before exploring the rainforest via the boardwalk and learning all about the vegetation and animals around us. Finally, a Year 3 favourite, was the ride to the top of the valley on the steepest railway in the southern hemisphere. What a wonderful way to learn about our local area and what we can all do to care for our unique Australian places.
Pre-Kinder
Pre-Kinder We had so much fun celebrating Bluey’s 6th birthday with lots of excitement and laughter! The children loved joining in the party games, especially pass the parcel and pin the tail on Bluey, which brought plenty of giggles and happy smiles.
