Wow! What an absolutely spectacular performance our school community was treated to last week. Our school production, ‘The Amazing Adventures of Super Stan’ lit up the stage with colour, music, and joy. From the very first scene to the final bow, the energy was electric, and audience members were captivated. The talent, creativity, and confidence of students was inspiring, and it was clear that weeks of practice, teamwork, and dedication had paid off.

A heartfelt thanks to Andrea and Zoe for sharing their passion and skills, to staff for their exceptional support, and to families for assisting with costumes, reciting lines and being a wonderful audience.

Father’s Day

Thank you to all those who joined us for ‘Dads and Donuts’ and our prayer. It is wonderful that these celebrations are so well attended. Moments like these build lasting memories for you and your children; simple but special times together that also strengthen the heart of our school community.

Carlo Acutis- our newest saint

Carlo Acutis was born in 1991 and grew up in Milan, Italy. He had a special devotion to the Eucharist from a young age and went to Mass every day. He prayed often, and tried to treat everyone with kindness. At the same time, he loved computers and technology. Carlo used his skills to create a website that shared stories of Eucharistic miracles with the world, earning him the nickname “God’s Influencer.”

At 15, Carlo became sick with leukemia and died in 2006. He offered his suffering to God and was remembered by those around him for his joy, generosity, and deep faith. His example inspired young people everywhere to live their faith in everyday life.

The Catholic Church has recognised two miracles through Carlo’s intercession. Because of this, he was canonised by Pope Leo yesterday, in Rome. Carlo will be the first millennial saint in the Church. Carlo’s story reminds us that holiness is possible for everyone, including young people today.

Toilets

Please be reminded that adults are not permitted to use student toilets at any time, including before and after school. Adults are welcome to use the toilet in the office until 4:00pm each day.

Seeing a Need…

Anthony (3/4W) has seen a need and taken action to make a difference. He is participating in Connor’s Run to raise awareness and funds for children living with brain cancer. This act of generosity and compassion is a wonderful example of living out our school values in everyday life.

We commend Anthony’s initiative, and care for other children. Families who would like to support this wonderful cause can do so by visiting this link. Together, as a community, we can support Anthony to make a difference.

Class Placement 2026

We will begin preparing class lists for 2026 in Term 4. This is a comprehensive process that involves staff working collaboratively to consider the best blend of students within a class to ensure academic, social and wellbeing needs have been considered. Students are involved in the process by nominating other students with whom they work most positively. We make every effort to include one of the students they nominate. However, in helping our students develop their resilience, it’s important that we allow them to stretch themselves by experiencing a range of staff and students throughout primary school. We use our professional judgement and knowledge of students to determine these lists and the process is rigorous.

Parents are only invited to share critical information for consideration. This does not include friendship or teacher requests but it is reasonable to request that your child is not placed with siblings or cousins. Our Holy Rosary staff have experience working with students who have a range of academic, social and wellbeing needs.

The final decision for class placement rests with the Leadership Team and information provided by parents may guide a decision but may also be disregarded as we work for the best possible solution for all students. Sometimes parental requests negate requests from other parents, staff or the students themselves. Information from previous years is not considered as children grow, change and mature each year. Friendships and working relationships change too. Therefore, if you believe you have critical information, even if you have submitted this in the past, please submit it again.

Critical information for class placement should be presented by completing the GoogleForm here or by making an appointment through the office, with a Leadership Team Member by the end of this term. Please do not email this information. Late information cannot be considered and finalised classes will not be changed.

Responsible Pet Ownership

We had a booking with the Responsible Pet Ownership Program for Tuesday 2 September where Meg and her specially trained dog, Bailey were due to visit our Prep - Year 2 children. Unfortunately Bailey was not well and the incursion could not go ahead. We have rescheduled for 14th October and look forward to welcoming them to our school.
