Curriculum Development at HPS

Student-Led Conferences – Wednesday 17 September 2025

On Wednesday 17 September, we will be holding Student-Led Conferences. This is a valuable opportunity for students to guide their parents or carers through a showcase of their learning and progress throughout the year.

Each student will have a 20-minute timeslot to visit their classroom. When completing the booking form, please nominate, please add 3 preferences for your 20-minute appointment time. Once preferences are reviewed, you will receive a confirmation via Compass.

Please be aware there will be four families in total visiting at the same time, the teacher will meet with each family for a maximum of 5 minutes to review goals. If parents require a longer discussion, they are encouraged to make an appointment to meet with the teacher at a different time.

To ensure students get undivided attention, we encourage siblings to not attend the conference.

Home Language Support: Students are welcome to conduct their conference in their home language, especially if parents are more comfortable in a language other than English. This is strongly encouraged for EAL families.

Specialist Areas: Specialist teachers will be available with learning centres showcasing student work. Families are encouraged to visit these areas with their child:

Art & Italian – Art Room (Middle Building)
PE – Basketball Court
STEM – Middle Area of the BER
Performing Arts – Library

If you'd like to have a dedicated meeting with the class teacher to discuss your child's progress in more detail, please book a separate appointment at a mutually convenient time.
