Celebrating Our School Community

On Friday, 29th August, our school community came together to celebrate Book Week with a vibrant parade. This year’s theme, “Book an Adventure”, was embraced with wonderful enthusiasm as students showcased their love of reading through imaginative and creative costumes.

We sincerely thank our parent community for the ongoing support you provide, particularly those who were able to attend the parade. A special acknowledgement goes to the parents who decorated our front fence—your efforts created a festive and welcoming atmosphere for all.

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Mark and Pie Earles, valued members of the Environment Committee and our school community, for their incredible work at the Working Bee last Saturday. It was a fantastic team effort, and inspiring to see how much we can achieve when we come together.

We are incredibly grateful for the dedication and effort shown by all involved in supporting HPS—it is your support and spirit that makes our community so strong.

Reminder Hats must be worn

As part of our Sun Protection Policy, we would like to let you know that from Monday, 1st September, all students are expected to wear a school-approved hat each day, these are available from our uniform supplier PSW. 

To ensure students are well protected when outdoors, hats must provide coverage for the face, neck, head, and ears—such as a broad-brimmed, legionnaire, or bucket hat. This applies on both uniform and non-uniform days.

Please note that baseball caps and visors are not suitable alternatives, as they do not offer adequate sun protection for the neck, ears, or cheeks.

Students who do not have an appropriate hat will be directed to play or spend time in shaded or sun-safe areas during outdoor activities.

Please make sure hats are clearly named.

We appreciate your ongoing support in helping us keep students safe in the sun by ensuring they bring and wear a suitable hat to school each day.
