Book Week 2025
Book Week 2025: Book an Adventure
Our annual Book Week parade was a huge success, with the school buzzing as a colourful array of fictional characters came to life. The creativity and effort that went into the costumes made the day truly special.
In keeping with this year’s theme “Book an Adventure,” the staff joined in the fun by dressing as characters from Peter Pan.
After the parade, students enjoyed a live performance of Treasure Hunt by Perform Education. This interactive and educational musical adventure brought the Children’s Book Week® 2025 theme to life, weaving in stories from the CBCA 2025 Shortlisted Books. Students were taken on a treasure hunt that explored sustainability, our relationship with the natural world, and the way books connect people across cultures and communities.
The performance was a highlight of the week, with many students sharing their reflections:
- “I really liked how they made everyone laugh and it taught us that we should try to be friends with everyone.” – Grace (4AE)
- “I really liked the lesson and how they showed you can accomplish anything.” – Juliette (5ID)
- “The main message of the show was that everyone, no matter your culture, should be treated the same and we should care for the environment.” – Sebastian (6MH)
- "My favourite part of the show was how they did singing and dancing and taught us about all these books." - Lara 4KL
- "I really liked how there was a lot of friendship in this story." - Sana 5ID
- “I really liked the moral of the show which was friendship.” – Alegra (4KL)
- “I think the message was, no matter what culture you are from and what culture someone else is from, if you have never really met each other, it doesn’t mean you can’t be friends. You can’t just assume something about someone that is not true.” – Lachie (6MH)
- "I really like how they showed lots of connections and expressions." - Nancy 5ID
Book Week 2025 was a joyful reminder of the magic of reading, the power of imagination, and the many adventures waiting to be discovered between the pages of a book.
