Level 5 & 6 News

Interschool Sports:

Over the past two weeks, our 5/6 students have been competing at their Summer Sports for Interschool Sports. Sports included tennis, cricket, volleyball, down ball and basketball. Our students displayed excellent sportsmanship and resilience, and their skills and confidence grew enormously across the two days. We are so proud of them all and have had a fantastic year of sport!

Student Voice Leaders planning for Term 4:

The Year 5/6 teachers had some special visitors to their Term 4 planning day, the Year 5/6 Student Voice Leaders! These students are the leaders who represent the voice of students in our cohort. An important element of planning day is listening to our student's voices what they enjoy about school and what they wish that could do more or less of. We love having them join us as they ensure we plan experiences that cater to their interests and needs. This time also allows us to reflect on the previous term.

Some of their ideas included:

  • Book clubs → Could we try again? Could we change the structure?
  • Writing with prompts
  • Time table fluency practice
  • Million dollar project
  • More group and partner work
  • Geography/History
  • Top 10 lessons with levelled tasks
