Grade 1 Excursion to Melbourne’s Sealife Aquarium
On Friday the 12th of September, the Grade 1 students went on a very exciting excursion to Melbourne’s Sealife Aquarium. As part of our Geography unit, we have been exploring Melbourne and undertaking a mini-humanities topic on “oceans.” The students have loved learning all about our wonderful sea life, and this excursion was a fantastic way to celebrate and extend our learning.
Throughout the day, we had the chance to see some incredible creatures, including a 65-year-old saltwater crocodile, the Bay of Rays, and even the penguins during their feeding time! The students were fascinated as they learned more about the different habitats and adaptations of sea animals.
It was a wonderful day filled with curiosity, discovery, and lots of excitement. A big thank you to our parent helpers who joined us and made this experience possible.
Grade 1 Procedure Writing
We have been busy learning all about procedure writing and following step by step instructions. To make our learning extra fun, the students followed a procedure to make fairy bread in the classroom!
We each had a go at writing the steps for making fairy bread, and the most exciting part was putting our procedures into action! We followed our own directions to see how our fairy bread would turn out. The best part of all? Getting to eat it, yum!
