Principal's News

Good morning Families,
As we come to the end of Term 3, I sincerely thank families for your support and partnership throughout this busy term. I wish you a happy and relaxing holiday, with plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful spring weather. May this break leave you refreshed and rejuvenated, ready to embrace the excitement and opportunities of our final term.
Please be reminded that school finishes at 1pm on Friday.
Urgent: Parent Survey Reminder
Our MACSSIS survey is open, but so far the number of families completing it is very low- only 20%. We really need your feedback to help guide our planning and future direction. This is an important opportunity for all families to have their say. All Year 4-6 students and staff have already completed the survey. Please make it a priority to complete the survey this week. Your voice matters and we don’t want it to go unheard. You will have received the survey link via email.
Casual Clothes
In this final week we have two casual clothes days- on Thursday the SRC have initiated Team Colours Day and on Friday we will hold our usual casual clothes to mark the end of the term. Team Colours may include footy colours or any other team colours of choice. Just a reminder that on both these days students must wear sunsmart clothing and closed shoes.
School Hats
There are still some students who are not wearing their hats. It is important that we protect students from the increasing UV levels. Please remind your children to keep their hats in their bags.
Mercy Spirit Award
Students and staff have nominated a number of students for our annual Mercy Spirit Award. Nominations close on Thursday at 4:00pm.
School Review
A heartfelt thank you to the families and students who took part in our school review last week. Your honest reflections and thoughtful contributions not only affirm the great things happening in our school but also help shape the path ahead as we plan for the next cycle of growth and improvement.
Class Placement 2026
We will soon begin preparing class lists for 2026 in Term 4. This is a comprehensive process that involves staff working collaboratively to consider the best blend of students within a class to ensure academic, social and wellbeing needs have been considered. Students are involved in the process by nominating other students with whom they work most positively. We make every effort to include one of the students they nominate. However, in helping our students develop their resilience, it’s important that we allow them to stretch themselves by experiencing a range of staff and students throughout primary school. We use our professional judgement and knowledge of students to determine these lists and the process is rigorous.
Parents are only invited to share critical information for consideration. This does not include friendship or teacher requests but it is reasonable to request that your child is not placed with siblings or cousins. Our Holy Rosary staff have experience working with students who have a range of academic, social and wellbeing needs.
The final decision for class placement rests with the Leadership Team and information provided by parents may guide a decision but may also be disregarded as we work for the best possible solution for all students. Sometimes parental requests negate requests from other parents, staff or the students themselves. Information from previous years is not considered as children grow, change and mature each year. Friendships and working relationships change too. Therefore, if you believe you have critical information, even if you have submitted this in the past, please submit it again.
Critical information for class placement should be presented by completing the GoogleFormhere or by making an appointment through the office, with a Leadership Team Member by Friday at 4pm. Late information cannot be considered and finalised classes will not be changed.
Here’s to a lovely holiday break,
Christine
