Dear Parents/Carers and supporters of our greatest asset, our children,
The end of Term 3 is just a week away. Although it has been a shorter term, we have made the most of it—fitting in a great deal of learning and growth. Students and staff have worked hard, embracing new routines, experiences, and opportunities to grow.
As we look ahead to Term 4, we reflect on the progress we’ve made together through the MAGNIFY initiative, supported by Catholic Education Sandhurst. This process has placed the learning and progress of every child in focus, prompting us to ask important questions about their needs while also celebrating their successes.
A real highlight for our staff has been the support and collaboration with Catholic Education Sandhurst. Their time, insights, and in-class observations have been invaluable in strengthening our teaching practices and ensuring we are delivering the very best for our students.
We have gathered as a community and celebrated each other in a number of events over the last two weeks.
A big thank you to Rochester Lions and Mum & Me Coffee for helping make our Father’s Day Breakfast such a success. We were delighted to serve 81 coffees, along with egg and bacon rolls and sausages in bread for our students and visitors.
It was wonderful to see fathers, father figures, and special people come together—sharing a meal, enjoying some footy activities, and taking the time to connect with one another.
We’re also incredibly grateful to Rochester Sportspower, Rochester Mitre 10 and AG Warehouse Rochester for their generous donations towards our raffle – your support makes events like this even more special.
Last week we had the opportunity to celebrate and thank our Learning Support Officers. Students and teachers took the time to say thank you in a variety of ways. These staff are the greatest supporters of our children and work tirelessly to support learning all day, every day.
Yesterday we wore yellow as an acknowledgement of R U OK Day.
During the week in a number of lessons, students participated in role play and other learning activities to help them learn more about the importance of asking R U OK. We learned about being a Good Human, not just a Good Friend, as being a Good Human makes sure we are checking in with everyone, not just our friends. Students completed some role play, learning to recognise facial expressions and emotions in others. They discussed their circle of trust and people they could talk to if they had worries.
The day finished with R U OK Gotcha awards for members of each class with a whole school R U OK Champion celebrated.
As part of our planning for 2026, we are conducting the annual School Engagement Survey. Families received the link to the survey by email last week. This important process gathers feedback from families, staff, and senior students to help guide the future direction of our school.
The survey is completely anonymous and confidential, and we only receive a group report. There is no way to identify individual responses.
The survey will close on Monday 15th September. Currently, 20.9% of families have responded. We are very grateful to those who have already completed the survey and warmly encourage more families to take part so that every voice can be represented.
At the start of Term 4, all students are required to wear their hats whenever they are outside. This includes moving between classrooms and using undercover play areas.
Please ensure your child’s hat is clean, ready to wear, and clearly named before Term 4 begins.
9.30am - 12.00pm
Many hands make light work - we have identified a number of jobs to be completed and would appreciate your help on this day.
Even if you can spare an hour, we would be grateful.
We are still needing helpers for the Elmore Field Days. If you are able to help, please phone the office.
To celebrate the amazing attitudes to learning and play, we will have a whole school reward day on the last day of term.
Students are invited to dress in the colours of a GEM (Gratitude, Empathy, Mindful) Superhero.
Students are to be able to speak about why they chose their superhero.
Students will be provided with a pasta lunch on Friday also.
We will be taking orders for lunch on Monday. Choices will be:
Children will have an extra-long Kelly Sports session as a part of the day.
Thanks for your ongoing support.
