Science

Last week a small group of students from year 5 and 6, including our STEM captains, attended the Climate Action for Kids Conference at Edendale Farm. The students had a fantastic day listening to other students present about environmental projects undertaken at their schools. Our students got to hear about the Eltham Cooper Butterfly Habitat that has been created at Eltham East Primary school and how they have actually managed to observe the butterflies there. They also participated in an engaging presentation about waste, composting and recycling initiatives at Briar Hill Primary School.
Our STEM captains, Caitlin, Maddie and Alice did us proud with an awesome presentation about our school pond.
Year 5
Students continued learning about wicking beds and capillary action, with some experiments with paper flowers and celery.
