Around the Classrooms

The Marvellous Minds of Prep M

Prep M students have had a fantastic start to Term 4 and have settled back into classroom routines with great enthusiasm!

In Literacy, students reflected on their holiday experiences through a fun and creative recount activity. Each student designed their own pair of holiday glasses, decorating them with a drawing that captured a special moment from their break. Alongside their artwork, they wrote a short blurb describing their holiday adventures, which they proudly shared with the class.

In Maths, we’ve been exploring Statistics and learning about the different parts of data. Students have been sorting collections into two groups and comparing them to identify which has more or less. Using simple yes/no questions—like “Are there more dogs than cats?”—students have taken part in hands-on activities to collect and organise data from their peers, then analyse the results to draw conclusions.

In Inquiry, students have been learning about the differences between living and non-living things. Using our prior knowledge and engaging in rich classroom discussions, students have been sorting and categorising images into the two groups. It’s been wonderful to see them justify their choices and use scientific thinking to explore the world around them.
