Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) Expression of Interest and Survey

Thursday 28 August

School Council are in the process of receiving Expressions of Interest from potential OSHC providers for 2026/2027. The before and after school care program includes support for families during the vacations and on curriculum days when a normal school program does not run. As part of the process, a survey of our community has been developed to gauge parent experiences with the provision of these services. Parents who are involved and those who are not involved in the service are invited to complete the survey below. The survey is open until Friday 29 August.

Annual Parent/ Caregiver/ Guardian Opinion Survey (Open Now)

Our annual survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement.

Your opinions are important to us and will contribute to identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies. The department will use the results from the survey for research purposes and to improve outcomes for students.

The survey will be conducted online and only takes 20 minutes to complete. It can be completed on any internet enabled device (desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone) and is compatible with most browsers.

The survey is available in English and 10 other languages: Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. If you require assistance in another language, resources may be available for you. Please reach out to your child’s teacher, or the school if you require assistance in another language.

Please find the hyperlink and login information on the Compass Portal.

PLEASE NOTE: Only one parent / caregiver / guardian from your household is invited to complete the survey on behalf of the student’s family. Please reach out to your child’s teacher, or the school if your child’s family lives in two separate households, so both households can have the opportunity to provide their feedback. To protect your responses, please DO NOT share the survey link and PIN with others, or on a public website, forum or similar.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 18 August to Friday 19 September 2025.

5/6 Students Away on Camp

95 students from the 5/6 Learning Area are growing in their independence while having a loud and adventurous time. The camp is supported by some intrepid volunteers and staff who are ensuring all goes well. It is the first time at Camp Alexandra Adventure Resort and we have enjoyed participating in a range of experiences thus far.

Here is a quick update …

We have arrived, survived and thrived over the last day. Students arrived yesterday after a stop in Yea and enjoyed the entry into what has been a great adventure. Activity groups were established and were out completing an orientation course, scrambling up the rock wall, shooting arrows, looking down from the high ropes course, and hanging onto the zip line across the dam. There were some rainy periods but we were also grateful for periods of wonderful sunshine and warmth. The highlight was to see students challenge themselves and achieve beyond their initial expectations.

Chicken schnitzels, veggies and potatoes were enjoyed by all, twice! An evening movie was a great way to cap off the day.

Campers were quiet by a reasonable time last night and are now up and about looking forward to breakfast.

There is some further rain forecast today but we are sure we will have an energetic time!

Yr1 and Yr2 Sleepover

Friday 5 September

The Year 1 and Year 2 students are not letting the 5/6 Learning Area have all the camping fun! Students in year 1 will stay for a dinner and special show, while our year 2 students will stay overnight! I am sure it will be a fun adventure for all!!!!

5/6 Students Enjoy Cinderella

Tuesday 26 August

Tuesday saw students from the 4/5/6 Learning Area head down to Macleod College and enjoy the student presentation of Cinderella. With significant winds and rain forecast we are thankful the teaching team rushed around and were able to organise a bus to enable students to participate in the event at all.
