Goal Setting
As we conclude Term 3, it is a valuable opportunity for students to pause and reflect on their learning journey. This will allow boys to celebrate their growth and achievements whilst considering the goals they set at the beginning of the Term. This process of reflection not only helps consolidate their learning but also prepares them for the final Term of the year, whilst setting them up for a successful 2026.
Setting meaningful academic goals each term is an important part of helping students grow as independent learners. With support and partnership from both home and school, boys are encouraged to use the SMART goals framework—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound—to guide their goal setting. This approach helps them take ownership of their learning and develop lifelong habits of self-reflection and personal growth.
Throughout the final week of Term 3, these goals may be recorded in student diaries or shared via Seesaw. This will allow your family to have a discussion about your son’s learning so far and assist him in his pursuit of achieving his best. We value your support, assisting your son to see the importance of ongoing reflection and accountability. Thank you for your continued partnership in nurturing these important skills in your son’s learning journey.
Year 4 Rugby Carnival
On Thursday, 18 September, our Year 4 students took to the field for the Rugby Carnival, showcasing the impressive skills and teamwork they’ve developed during their Thursday afternoon training sessions. It was a joy to see their confidence, determination, and camaraderie in action throughout the day.
We are grateful to the parents who helped manage the teams on the day. The day would not have been possible without your encouragement. Thank you, due to your involvement the carnival was a fun and memorable experience for the boys.
We look forward to our final Year Four carnival in Term 4, which will be a cricket carnival held in Week 4.
CEWA Spelling Bee
On Tuesday, six boys represented the Junior School at the Catholic Education Central Region Spelling Bee. The boys demonstrated outstanding application in the lead up to the event, preparing hard to learn a wide range of difficult words. Two boys performed outstandingly well on the day. Lucas Santo (Year 5) was awarded second place in the Year 5 competition, and Patrick Lin (Year 4) came first place in the Year 4 competition. Congratulations also to Joshua Goodwin, Alexander Bullock, Sam O’Connor and Tommy Smith who also did a wonderful job representing Trinity at the competition.
Golden Honor Assembly
Thank you to those who were able to join us for our end of term Golden Honor Assembly today. We’re especially grateful to Year 6 Blue for their fantastic Assembly item – well done! Congratulations to all our Golden Honor award winners; your recognition is so well deserved and a true reflection of your dedication and hard work this Term.
Year 6 NCEC Research
A reminder to Year 6 families, we have been invited to patriciate in a survey by the National Catholic Education Commission. The project titled: An investigation into the impact of faith formation in Catholic education from the perspective of students is endeavouring to learn about how faith and values are taught in Catholic schools and how this affects students.
It is planned to be a 10-year project and every year students in Year 6 and Year 12 will be invited to participate in surveys. In this study the researchers want to:
Learn about the good things, opportunities, and challenges of faith formation experiences
Understand what students think about their Catholic education
Start conversations in schools about how Catholic education effects students’ faith
Use this information to improve future practices.
The survey will be completed online in Week 10 of Term 3 in your son's regular class time. It is anticipated that the survey will take no longer than ten minutes, and includes questions such as:
Basic information about your son (e.g., age, background)
Their experiences in Catholic school
Their thoughts on how the school has shaped your faith and values.
We kindly ask you to complete the Parent Consent Form by Friday, 19 September 2025.
