Greater Western Lawn Bowls
Well done to the Sacred Heart Lawn Bowls team who played in the Greater Western Lawn Bowls Tournament last Tuesday at the Sebastopol Bowling Club. All bowlers did very well, with Team Yellow being the runners up on the day after a long hard grand final battle against Buninyong.
Junior Lawn Bowls Competition
The Colac Lake Bowling Club is currently after junior lawn bowlers to potentially make a Colac Junior Lawn Bowls Team. Free coaching is available for all students from 5.00pm – 6.00pm. Bowls is a fun and social game that everyone of all ages can enjoy. The Colac Lake Bowling Club is at 35 Moore Street, Colac. Please contact Ms Lynch if you require more information.
Golden Nugget Basketball
Congratulations to Regan S who has been selected for the Golden Nugget Basketball Camp for 2025. The "Gold Nugget" is a series of camps for various age groups, not a single team. Athletes are selected from Basketball Victoria's Future Development Program (FDP) and regional academies for these camps. Regan will participate in the Under 14 girl’s camps. Well done Regan!
State Netball Championships
Our Year 6 Girls Netball team consisting of – Phoebe R, Asha Mc, Poppy S, Darci G, Lily K, Mae D, Regan S, Lily S, Lena M and Millie H, will play in the State Netball Championships on Wednesday 17th September at Waverley Netball Centre (2 Jells Road, Wheelers Hill). Students will travel by car to this event.
What a fantastic achievement to get this far in primary school netball. The draw will be sent home with students. Everyone needs to be at Waverley Netball Centre at 9.00am for a 9.40am start.
Winter Sport
This Friday 12th September our Year 5 and 6 students will compete against Colac South West Primary School in Round 5 of the Winter Sport Competition between recess and lunch. This will take place at Colac South West. We will travel by bus to Colac South West. The bust will leave Sacred Heart at 11:30am and return at 1:20pm. Students will need to wear their sports uniform and bring along the appropriate uniform for their selected sport. The sports will include football, netball, T-Ball and soccer. Drink bottles and hats will also be needed. Students can still have a lunch order on this day.
Winter Sport Cath-Up
On Thursday 18th September our Year 5 and 6 students will compete against St Mary’s Primary School in the Winter Sports Program, This is a catch up session from when we were washed out in Round 3 on Friday 15th August. We look forward to welcoming St Mary’s to our school on this day (the final day of Term 3).
Footy Colours Day
On Thursday 18th September, all students have the chance to wear their favourite football code colours e.g. AFL, soccer, NRL etc. Students are asked to bring a gold coin donation that will go towards our selected fundraising group ‘OneHope Community Care’. This is a community meal program in Geelong that offers those in need a warm cooked meal on a Thursday and a community foodbank (food hamper) on a Tuesday. They offer meals to all those who are struggling financially and aim to provide cooked meals, fresh produce, pantry items, and community connection.

1. What sports do you play? The sports I play are dance, netball, swimming and athletics.

3. Why is this your favourite sport? Netball is my favourite sport because I like it and I get to meet new people.
4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was when my netball team won the grand final.
5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in sport is my confidence.
6. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because it is a good thing to do and it keeps you fit and healthy.
7. Who is your favourite sports person? My favourite sports person is Jess Fox, Olympic champion in canoe slalom.
8. Why are they your favourite? Jess is my favourite player because she is a champion and very good at what she does.
9. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sports team is the Melbourne Vixens netball team.
10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach and team mates would say that I am always happy and fun to be around.

1. What sports do you play? The sports I play are tennis and swimming.
2. Which sport is your favourite to play? My favourite sport to play is badminton.
3. Why is this your favourite sport? Badminton is my favourite sport because it is a fast game and it is fun to play.
4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was when I won my first swimming race and when I defeated my Dad.
5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in sport is my speed and accuracy.
6. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because it is fun.
7. Who is your favourite sports person? My favourite sports person is tennis player Alex De Minaur.
8. Why are they your favourite? De Minaur is my favourite player because he is a good tennis player and he is good to watch.
9. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sports team is the Sydney Swans.
10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My team mates would say that I am a good sports person and that I am always fair.

1. What sports do you play? The sports I play are basketball and netball.
2. Which sport is your favourite to play? My favourite sports to play are basketball and netball.
3. Why is this your favourite sport? Both netball and basketball are my favourite sports because you get the chance to exercise and keep fit when you play them.
4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was when I was named in the best players and my family was there to watch me.
5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in sport is my ability to train well for the sports that I play.
6. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because it is something that I can do with my family.
7. Who is your favourite sports person? My favourite sports person is netballer Zara Walters.
8. Why are they your favourite? Zara is my favourite player because she is such a good netball player and she came from Colac and went to Sacred Heart.
9. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sports teams are the the Melbourne Vixens netball team and the Collingwood football team.
10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach and team mates would say that I am sporty.
