Principal's News

Dear Parents and Carers,

I trust all of our Dads were spoiled on Sunday. A very big thank you to Louise D and her team of parents who organised and conducted our Father’s Day gifts last week. It is always greatly anticipated by the children and appreciated by our dads, I’m sure.

Enhancing Catholic School Identity (ECSI)

As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening our Catholic identity, Mel C and I participated in an intensive program of seminars and activities in Ballarat last week designed to deepen our understanding of the Enhancing Catholic School Identity (ECSI) research. This program examined the purpose of Catholic schools in today’s world, how we respond to an increasingly secular society, and ways to make religious education meaningful and engaging for all students. A key focus was learning about theology as recontextualisation - helping our community connect the richness of the Catholic faith with the realities of contemporary life.

R U OK? Day

This Thursday, our school will come together to recognise R U OK? Day, an important reminder to check in on the wellbeing of others and to start conversations that show care and support. From 12:30pm to 1:30pm, all classes will take part in multi-age activities where teachers will discuss the meaning of R U OK? Day, followed by both indoor activities and outdoor group games such as tug of war. To show our support, students are encouraged to wear something yellow, the colour of R U OK? Day, as a visible sign of awareness and kindness.

"This day contributes to suicide prevention efforts by encouraging people to invest more time in personal relationships and building informal support networks. By having conversations and being alert to those around us, we can help identify signs of distress."

‘Women’s Health Week’

A big thank you to Senior Constable Steph Ward and Trinity College for inviting our Year 5 and 6 girls to participate in the Women’s Health Week. We had the chance to listen to some very motivational speakers – Courtney Barrow, Jess Woods and Rebecca McIntyre. The session was truly inspiring and empowering, and we are grateful for the opportunity to be included in such a meaningful celebration.

Kind regards,

Karl Dwyer
