Dear Parents,
I wanted to share with you part of my assembly address to the students last week.
Celebrating our achievements
We have had so much to celebrate this term. I have listed many of the incredible opportunities that have been available to you, and I know that I:
Leadership applications have opened doors for student voice amongst our Year 11 students.
Adventure trips to Central Australia, Mittagundi, and Vietnam have broadened horizons.
Our Drama and Music Department's production of Mamma Mia and various drama excursions have showcased amazing talent.
Clay Target Shooting competitions have given students new skills to master.
Basketball, netball, football, and hockey teams have represented the College with pride.
ICCES cross country showed our athletic spirit.
Open mornings welcomed new families to our community.
Equestrian clinics connected students with their passion for horses.
Ecumenical Schools Australia (ESA) student leadership conferences developed our future leaders.
School girls netball built teamwork and determination.
Biology and Geography field trips brought learning to life.
Outdoor Education trips challenged students to step outside their comfort zones.
Academic competitions stretched our brightest minds.
The Music soirees celebrated our artistic talents.
And of course, our fabulous House Music Festival brought the entire school together in celebration
Students, how many of these opportunities were you involved in? Each one of these opportunities represents a staff member believing in you enough to create these experiences.
The choice before us
So, here's my challenge to you: I hope that, like me, you want to leave this term knowing that you made our school a better place for everyone. Not just for your friends, not just for your year level, but for every single person who walks through these doors. Show respect, make good choices, use manners, be considerate and helpful when at school and representing the College.
Looking ahead
Our final day of Term 4 finishes at 2:30 pm, and we'll be sending our Year 12 students off to complete their coursework and begin their VCE revision period. I ask the whole school community to show their support for them as they enter the final stretch.
A final word
To our Year 12s – you have a big couple of weeks ahead. You carry with you our very best wishes and our complete confidence in your abilities.
Let's finish Term Three strong. Let's make these last two weeks count. Let's choose respect, kindness, and pride in our school community.
Wishing all our families a very safe and peaceful holiday. We look forward to working with all our Year 12s in the second week of the holidays.
Students may begin Term Four in their summer or winter uniform.
All students will be required to be in summer uniform by Monday, 20 October.
Hats must be worn in Term Four.
We are so fortunate that the majority of students wear their College uniform with pride. Sadly, however, it only takes a handful of students to do the wrong thing that then reflects poorly on everyone. Could I ask all families to support the College in maintaining the high uniform standards we expect from all students?
Girls will be reminded of the following:
The summer dress must sit no higher than mid-knee with the school jumper on
One pair of plain studs or sleepers only in the earlobe.
Make-up or nail polish is not to be worn to school apart from colourless moisturiser or colourless sunscreen.
Jewellery is not permitted.
Hair below shoulder length must be tied up.
