  • You’ll hear all the essentials about the Educational Access Scheme, adjustment factors, preferences and offers.

Application deadlines

  • Early bird applications closing – 30ᵗʰ September

    • Students who are yet to submit their UAC application should aim to do so before early bird applications close at 11:59 pm on Tuesday, 30ᵗʰ September. After this date, UAC’s processing charge increases significantly.

  • SRS preferences deadline – 6ᵗʰ November

    • Applicants must finalise their course preferences for the first SRS offer round by 11:59 pm on Thursday, 6ᵗʰ November. The first SRS offers will be released on Thursday 13ᵗʰ November.
  • Educational Access Scheme documents – 18ᵗʰ November

Undergraduate applicants can select up to 5 course preferences when they apply for uni through UAC.

Pathways to degrees

When students feel that the degree they are keen on is out of reach, it's a good opportunity to remind them that institutions offer a variety of pathways – such as diplomas, foundation studies and certificates – to help them transition to uni and reach their goals. Session 1: Demystifying University & The Future World of Work

This session breaks down the language of higher education, offering practical strategies to support young people in making positive post-school decisions with confidence. We'll explore key trends in education and the workforce—locally, nationally, and globally—along with the impact of AI and emerging technologies on future career opportunities.

 

Session 2: UOW Degrees and Alternate Pathways

A university degree isn't a one-size-fits-all journey. This session will guide you through the diverse degree options at UOW, as well as alternative pathways into higher education. Whether a student is considering direct entry, bridging programs, or non-traditional routes, we’ll help you understand the options so you can help them find the best path for their academic and career goals.

 

Session 3: UOW Early Admission

We’ll cover everything you need to know—what it is, why it matters, and how to craft a standout application. This session will walk you through key dates, application tips, and what to expect.

Session 4: Financial Considerations, Scholarships & Accommodation @ UOW

Understanding university costs is key to making informed financial decisions. This session will cover HECS-HELP, Centrelink support, and the financial aspects of moving out of home. You’ll also learn about scholarships, grants, and accommodation options at UOW, with practical advice on how to apply. If students are weighing up a gap year, we’ll discuss what to consider before making a decision.

 

Session 5: What’s Next? Successfully Setting Up to Start in 2026!

What an Early Admission offer means, what’s next? This session will guide you through the next steps, including how to navigate UAC, finalise your enrolment, and prepare for university. You'll also hear from UOW’s Accessibility & Inclusion, Wellbeing, and Safe & Respectful Communities teams on how we create a supportive, inclusive environment to help you thrive from day one.
