Under 15 Girls League Tag
On Thursday 18th of September, Kildare competed in the Under 15 Girls League Tag Gala Day. The sun was shining, setting the perfect stage for an incredible day of league tag. The girls played with skill and heart, not only showcasing their talent but also their fantastic teamwork and sportsmanship.
The team started their pool games strong, with a hard-fought 10-6 victory over West Wyalong. They then went on to dominate their next two games, with impressive wins of 26-0 against MRHS and 12-0 against Mater Dei. Their undefeated run through the pool stage was a testament to their dedication and effort, and it secured them a spot in the semi-finals.
The semi-final match against St Francis was a tough and gritty contest. The girls gave it their all in a nail-biting game, but unfortunately, they went down 4-0. Despite the loss, the team's performance throughout the entire playing day was outstanding. Their commitment to playing as a unit and their positive attitude were a credit to the team and everyone involved.

AFL NSW/ACT Junior Schools Cup Finals
It was double delight for Kildare at the AFL NSW/ACT Junior Schools Cup finals series on Wednesday, 3rd of September, with both the girls and boys teams walking away with premierships.
The girls' team locked away the flag with an undefeated run, finishing with a 4-0 record ahead of St Mary’s Star of the Sea Wollongong (2-2), Xavier Catholic College (2-2) and St Francis (2-2).
After watching on with a round 1 bye, Kildare romped their way to victory over Endeavour Sports High with a 3.7 (25) to 0.0 (0) win.
They followed that up with a 5.5 (35) to 1.1 (7) victory over Xavier Catholic College, before locking away the flag with a 4.4 (28) to 1.9 (15) win over St Mary’s, and St Francis with a 4.8 (32) to 2.0 (12) win.
In the boys competition, it was also a clean sweep for the eventual premiers who ended the day with a 4-0 record.
A dominating first-up 8.7 (55) to 1.1 (7) win over Waverly College kick-started the premiership quest, before two hard-fought wins over Xavier Catholic College (31-13) and St Mary Mackillop (39-14) put them in the box seat for success.
A final round thriller against St Francis Leeton – 3.3 (21) to 2.4 (16) – then locked away the premiership on a day that’s sure to be remembered for Kildare. This was the first time Kildare has achieved the double.

Open Girls Hockey Team
A huge congratulations to the Open Girls Hockey team for their outstanding tournament , which culminated in them retaining their title! Their path to victory was swift and decisive, showcasing the team's incredible skill and determination.
The girls had a dominant run, playing only two games due to a series of forfeits from other schools. In their first match, they faced Wagga Wagga High School and delivered a commanding performance, winning with an impressive score of 6-0. The team's offensive prowess and solid defense were on full display, setting the tone for their season.
They made it straight into the final match against a strong Mater Dei Catholic College side. The championship game was a true testament to the team's talent as they secured a decisive 3-0 victory to clinch the title once again. The win highlighted the teamwork and dedication of every player.
Basketball NSW School Tournament
Our U16 boys' and girls' basketball teams competed in the Basketball NSW School Tournament on 26th August at PCYC here in Wagga. Both teams showed great effort and sportsmanship throughout the day.
The boys' team had a fantastic tournament, securing a third-place finish overall. Their first game against Xavier Catholic College (Albury) was a nail-biter, with the score close until the final two minutes. Despite a strong effort, they went down 47–36.
They faced another tough opponent in their second game against Trinity Anglican School (Albury), who were too strong, winning 42–29. However, the boys bounced back in their final game against Scots College (Albury), playing an excellent game and winning decisively with a score of 47–34.
The girls' team displayed tremendous heart and determination in every game. They started the tournament with a challenging match against a very strong Xavier Catholic College (Albury) team, losing 48–8.
They didn't let that loss get them down. The girls came out strong in their second game against Trinity Anglican School (Albury), even leading at the first break. While Trinity ultimately won 50–24, our girls showed incredible fight. They faced Trinity again in the first semi-final and, despite a hard-fought effort, went down 40–25.
