Ballan Primary School Achieves Silver in School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support

Hi everyone,

We are incredibly proud to share that Ballan Primary School has officially achieved Silver level acknowledgement in 2024 as part of the School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework. This is a significant milestone that recognises our school's commitment to building a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all students.

SWPBS is a whole-school approach to teaching and reinforcing positive behaviour. It focuses on clearly defined expectations, consistent practices, and supportive relationships to help all students succeed—both academically and socially.

At Ballan Primary School, this means we:

  • Teach and model our core values across all settings
  • Reinforce positive behaviours through recognition and encouragement
  • Use consistent language and expectations in all classrooms
  • Monitor behaviour patterns to guide our interventions and supports
  • Create a calm and supportive school culture where every student feels they belong

Achieving Silver level means we have successfully embedded Tier 1 (universal) systems across our school and met key measures of fidelity—ensuring we are doing what works, and doing it well. It shows that our staff are united, our systems are working, and that students are benefiting from a proactive and consistent approach to behaviour.

This award represents years of commitment and teamwork. SWPBS is a journey that takes time, and reaching this stage reflects the incredible work of our staff, students, and community.

We thank our whole school community for your continued support and look forward to building on this achievement as we work toward Gold!
