Home inquiry: Where do you observe and use fractions around the home? We encourage students to read good fit borrowed texts from the library for 15 minutes each night. Students are also getting into the habit of recording on our Premier reading Challenge record sheets.

Learning this week:
In Week 3 we reflect on camp and explore our new transdisciplinary theme of “Where we are in place and time”. Classes are learning about symbols and emblems, before researching and interpreting perspectives and identifying the impacts of Colonisation on culture, diversity, stereotypes and community.
In Reader’s and Writer’s workshop classes are exploring information texts and developing skills in note taking and summarising. We are also look into the difference between fact or fiction and learning about the structure of explanation and information texts.
Mathematics: We are focusing on fractions with Year 3s learning about basic fractions and sharing amounts equally and Year 4s learning about equivalent fractions/ mixed fractions and decimals.
Christian Studies: Exploring decision making in the Bible; forgiveness, listening, communicating, prayer, influences, morals/ ethics and recognising how our decisions impact interactions and relationships with others.
