Numeracy Curriculum Day

On Monday the 12th of May, our teachers engaged in a whole day of learning with maths consultant and YouTube star Michael Minas. Michael has worked at many school across the country developing their ability to teach engaging mathematics lessons that promote problem-solving, reasoning, and collaboration. Throughout the day, our staff explored rich tasks that encourage students to think deeply, make connections, and explain their mathematical thinking. 

Michael also shared practical strategies for fostering a positive maths culture in classrooms, where students feel confident to take risks and learn from mistakes. It was an inspiring day that left teachers excited to implement new ideas and approaches to enhance numeracy learning across our school.
