Principal Team Update

Hi BPS families,

There have been a number of events happening at BPS, proving that we're well and truly back into the swing of things for Term 2.

In recognition of ANZAC Day, our School Captains proudly led our students through an assembly to commemorate and recognise the significance of the day. We were very proud of these students, as well as all of our students, for the respect they showed during the assembly.

Last week, our Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6 students participated in the House Cross Country event. The weather was kind, with rain holding off until students were back on the bus returning to school! A big thank you to Mr Max Pretty for his organisation and leadership of the event, and to the many staff members and volunteers who helped ensure the day ran smoothly for our students.

Our Maintenance Team, led by Troy, has been working hard on improvements to our wooden playground. It has been oiled and the paint work refreshed. It's looking great and ready for our student's to continue enjoying.

This year, Education Week runs from Monday 19 May to Friday 23 May. The theme ‘Celebration of Cultures’ highlights the diversity of our communities and the importance of every child feeling safe and welcome at school. We were extremely pleased to welcome many community members to our Prep 2026 Parent/Carer Information Session last week. Our Prep team, Principal team, and School Captains proudly shared all the wonderful things about our school, helping families as they make this important decision for their child's education. If you know of a family interested in learning more about our school, please encourage them to get in touch or visit our website.

We look forward to seeing many of you at school this Friday. We have a number of activities planned, including a coffee van during drop off time, a Parents & Friends meeting at 2pm, an Open Afternoon at 2:45pm to celebrate the mums and special people in our students' lives, and a Mother's Day Stall! If you're celebrating Mother's Day this Sunday, we hope you enjoy being recognised and spoiled for the important and special role you play in your child's and family's lives.

Enjoy your week.

David, Grace, Keli and Ellen
